Bio Early experience teaching in Secondary school. Degree in Geography and History. Four years as Head of Interpretation at the Ironbridge Museum; seven as Tourism Officer for Calderdale Council followed by five as PR & Marketing Officer with Calderdale's heritage-based regeneration project. Short period as Senior Executive with a Leeds graphic design company before teaching tourism management at Leeds Metropolitan University. Retired in 2009 and author/publisher of the Making Sense of Tourism series of books.
