Biographical Info Tom Buncle is Managing Director of Yellow Railroad Ltd., an international destination consultancy specialising in destination branding and marketing, destination management planning, and crisis recovery. He has worked for clients in the UK, Europe, Africa, Middle East, North America and the Caribbean. In life BC (before consultancy), Tom was Chief Executive of Visit Scotland and worked for Visit Britain in USA, Canada, Norway, London and Singapore. He is an Honorary Professor at Edinburgh’s Heriot Watt University and lectures at international conferences, universities and business schools, on destination branding, tourism marketing, crisis recovery, and global travel trends. He authored the definitive Handbook on Tourism Destination Branding, published by the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) and European Travel Commission (ETC). Tom has served as a non-executive director on: Edinburgh International Festival Council, Cairngorm Partnership, Scotland the Brand, and Contact Singapore’s European Panel (former guardian of Singapore’s international image). He is a Fellow of the Tourism Society and the Tourism Management Institute, a member of the Experts’ Committee of World Tourism Cities Forum (China) and the Sustainable Tourism Certification Alliance (Africa).
