Bio Alison is an experienced marketing professional with 30 years national and international experience in place shaping, visitor economy and consumer marketing. She has held senior roles in Liverpool (as head of marketing for the sub regional tourist board and Liverpool’s European Capital of Culture), Manchester (2002 Commonwealth Games), and Chester (Director of Tourism) driving the cities’ economies through events and tourism. She has worked closely with Government organisations, departments, and NGOs to gain greater influence for the destinations and the aims of the projects. She has developed business and commercial strategies, marketing and brand plans and delivered marketing services for SMEs, attractions, accommodation providers and cultural organisations. Alison’s clients include: Marketing Cheshire, Lakes Culture, Marketing Manchester, Marketing Lancashire, Visit Blackpool, Visit England, Visit Peak District and Derbyshire, Trentham Gardens, Weston Park, Carden Park, SS Great Britain, The Bluecoat amongst others. Alison is Enterprise Adviser for Cheshire; MMU Mentor and Trustee of Heath Family Schools’ Trust. She is a Federation of Small Business Self Employed/Freelancer of the Year 2023 finalist.
