Bio I have been a tourism consultant since 1990 with extensive experience in the UK and over 50 countries worldwide. I work mainly in tourism policy, research, assessment and strategy development, globally and at a national and local destination level. I have produced many policy documents and good practice studies for the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) and for other UN bodies and international agencies, especially in the field of destination management and sustainable tourism. My early career was with in marketing and development with the tourist boards in England, following a degree in economics from the University of Cambridge and a doctorate in tourism research from the University of Edinburgh. I am an Associate Technical Director of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council.
