Tourism Society AGM in Liverpool by Dr Peter Robinson FTS, TCN

This year’s Tourism Society AGM in Liverpool proved to be an excellent opportunity to reconnect with colleagues, reflect on the Society’s progress, and explore some of the city’s outstanding visitor attractions. The programme included a fascinating visit to the British Music Experience, an attraction that feels entirely at home in a city whose musical heritage has influenced generations of artists
and audiences around the world. Please read more about it here.
“In addition, members who stayed overnight also enjoyed a group dinner and behind-the-scenes tour of Strawberry Field. Dinner was held in a private dining room at the 5-star Municipal Hotel. A delicious 3-course dinner followed a Prosecco Reception sponsored by the Hotel. We were joined by James Wood of Liverpool City region Partnership, who gave a brief talk about Liverpool’s Tourism Growth and new TS member Dean Paton from Big Heritage. The discussions held amongst members, learning not only about each other’s careers and experiences but also how they can collaborate in the future, was inspiring” added Alison Cryer MBE FTS TCN “The next day, Strawberry Field provided a fascinating guided tour not only for any Beatles fan but also as an example of a successful and high-quality visitor attraction we thank all of our hosts for their hospitality and captivating insights”.
Thanks go to: James Wood and his team, Alan Smith (Heritage) and Kevin McManus of Liverpool Council, Jo Cester, Paul Cook and Emily Stone of the British Music Experience, Ginette Goulston-Lincoln and Sue Harvey of Strawberry Field and Matt Miller, of the Municipal Hotel.
